I'm looking for a tripod to put the iOptron Sky Guider on. I can't use the HEQ5 tripod because of the 'peg' and neither of my camera tripods is really sufficiently robust for a tracker... This seems like a good option, but rather more expensive than I'd like!

SW do a 1.75 inch stainless tripod with no peg and 3/8 bolt. Alternatively get the Eq5 to 3/8 adapter. I have the Berlebach one but FLO do an astro essentials one which is cheaper. I just had to file a bit off the peg for a good fit.

This little beauty arrived today. Pretty sure Mike used to work in the Takahashi Packaging Department 😉

Will be handy in the Genesis to give up to x250 and for higher powers in various other scopes including the Tak.

This little beauty turned up some weeks ago, but only had a chance to use it on the Moon and Jupiter tonight. Amazing. Forced to go Tak after the demise of the Plantary HR.....

I got a copy of this book (1st photo) to add to this book (2nd photo) which my wife bought for me around 35 years ago. Not everyone's cup of tea by any means but I rather enjoyed the original book so I'm interested to see how the author followed it up.

I have just found out that, very sadly, Ken Fulton passed away earlier this month

Berlebach = £££££

Not cheap but very, very good and work far better than they look. 😁

Once you get your hands on one the cost seems well worth it. 👍🏻

I got this today, which was nice.

At last, a headtorch which dims properly.

A short while ago, I also got this from FLO. ( of course...)

All part of my plan to move, ( very gradually, ) towards AP. It will allow me to have a play with this interesting little scope too, which to be honest, has intrigued me since I saw it.

Delivered today by a friendly DHL driver a very nice example of a TAL Gen 2 25mm Plossl, the one with the lovely purple coatings courtesy of @Robindonne.

I've been after one of these for a while and figured that it would go very nicely with the Towa 80mm f/15.

Just need some clear skies to test it now as it not only arrived with clouds, but rain too :clouds2:.

Did it come unharmed?    Did my best to protect it.   The dutch transporters are always in a hurry and the majority thinks throwing with packages saves time😑

haha same happens here depending on the carrier used 😉 I've seen them thrown onto a huge pile on the ground rather than sorted and placed onto the racking and then staff walking over the pile to find stuff when you arrive to collect a missed delivery. I'd like to believe that practise has ceased but can't say since that particular carrier eventually closed off the 8ft high parcel pyramid area behind a partition wall, tho one package I collected a few years back had obviously been rough handled to the extent that the inner box gave up and the contents were scratched to h3ll. Thankfully that was a tap and not optics tho.

I also have to thank Christian then.  Im not sure if he’s a member here.  But he send me this from Germany.  Also very thankful for packing.

he sold me a very nice 120ed. It has been reunited with its smaller brother last week, but didn’t take long to decide to say goodbye to the junior😑.

It was packed in bubblewrap and very thin cardboard, but it came unharmed.  Thanks for this DHL-guy🙏🏼

It arrived in A1 condition. It was nestled snugly in the air cushioned box.

10/10 for your packaging skills, I was very impressed.

I'm fairly confident that the courier's could have kicked it around like a football with no damage.

Very pleased indeed with the delivery.

Busy making a tripod extension ATM as Rainbow want £245.00 for one

I have an Equinox 120 (and an 80). I know there are high-end better performing scopes, but to my eyes and feel these are such elegant creatures. I have nothing but love for the Equinox line.
