First time I've ever had anything printed. I've a feeling they edited my images as they do look slightly different to when I view them in Photoshop., especially M16 as it looks blown out now.

Just posting a big Thank You to the postal workers who brought a ton of good stuff this year. AZ-GTi and ASI178MM in particular, an awesome year from an astroconsumerist point of view.

Hmmm, sensitive German electronics... must be a little something from APM. @GavStar and @Stu are responsible for raising my optical quality expectations. Wide, colour free and sharp to nearly the edges..... nice.

Tiles are 600mm, got it out the box now, added a few more pic's.

Stuck it in the Star Adventure for pictures, wont be using it on there.

A couple of points from the AN review which says all the needed allan keys are supplied but there isn't one for the dovetail bar which is a small annoyance as they're imperial, they also say that the collimation screws are recessed into the rear so the scope can be stood on end whilst mine are all sticking up proud (see pic') so it would rest on them unless it hasn't actually been collimated in the factory and they will in fact screw further in, need to download the manual to see and see if there's some way of rotating the camera in the focuser.

R&P focuser looks and feels good.

Over the last few days I have recieved-

Making Every Photon Count

A hot shoe adaptor and red dot finder to mount on the a6300 for when not on the HEQ5 or piggy backed on a scope

A spare Telrad mount for the C6

A blower bulb and lens pen, optics for the cleaning of.

I am waiting for delivery of a rear lens cap for the sony a300 kit to keep crap off the lens the camera is mounted on the scope and also a pre production model Omegon Minitrack clockwork mount.

Great idea and nice images.

I often find images can look quite different on a laptop or computer monitor to when printed.  I have a 2nd monitor for my and also a dual monitor setup for my desktop and colours and intensities look different on all of them. Maybe I can adjust them to all look the same but I think even then if I print an image on paper the colours look different anyway.

But, whatever those images look great to me on this monitor 🙂

This just arrived, thoroughly packed by Stu: A Vixen GP-DX mount with SkySensor 2000 PC and sturdy wooden tripod.

Definitely a great upgrade from my Vixen Great Polaris, which has carried my C8 for almost 25 years. It will probably continue to do so, as the GP-DX will be carrying the APM 80 mm F/6 triplet, in tandem with my ST80 guide scope. Very curious to see how that goes. Clear skies are of course nowhere to be seen.

Really hoping this performs well with the full frame chip on the Canon. I'm done with flatteners and spacing!

Speaking of which, received a new 3" 0.79 flattener from TS for my 102EDR after the first ones lens elements came loose! They weren't seated properly. Also received today an AZ-GTi to go on the SA wedge thanks to Maurice @banjaxed

High hopes of low noise, first cooled cmos.  Extra couple usb ports is nice, includes short filter wheel cord.  Not intimidating as I imagined it would be.  SharpCap which used to working with manages everything for 1600mm.  Drops to -20C fast and holds.  Moving 174mm to OAG will make finding guide stars so much easier.  CS!
