Another couple of fairly recent deliveries, the first a Manfrotto 028b delivered before Christmas courtesy of @Earl.

I use this as a grab and go for my ST102 or ZS66 with a Manfrotto 410 geared head. The tripod is huge and stands at 1.80m with both leg sections extended and about 2.30m with the centre column extended, not that this height will be used with an Astro payload.

The second is a new to me Berlebach Uni 18 with my SkyTee 2 attached following a meeting with @Mark at Beaufort at a nice pub near Bath a couple of weeks ago.

It actually came complete with a different SkyTee 2 attached which I need to get around to advertising as I don't need two of them.

Looking forward to getting some use out of the SkyTee in the not too distant future.

Ade

A brand new Meade Series 3000 5mm Plossl, Made in Japan, still in its plastic bag and BC&F price tag of £53.
It really is unused and I opened the plastic bag.

Bought out of curiosity and to go with my treasured Series 3000 9.5mm Plossl (Japan).

Sadly this may now turn into a series 3000 Japan obsessive run of purchasing, fortunate they are so reasonable in price.
The EP is obviously short eye relief, but the eye lens is recessed and very comfortable to nuzzle your eye into.

Does it show it has been cloudy? :happy10:

Hi Alan

The series 3000 are a great range of eyepieces IMO, rather underrated. For me, the absolute pick of the range is the 16mm, a really lovely eyepiece if you can find one..?

This beauty arrived this morning amazingly, as it was ordered just yesterday afternoon from Telescope House. Along with the MRG 7mm from Stu, this now completes my high power bino pairs. :hello2:

Congrats, Steve. The 13T6 is the best TV ep I've looked through/owned, cracking eyepiece ?.

Cheers Dave.

This eyepiece had never been in my thoughts, but I picked one up quite cheaply, out of curiosity, and was so impressed with it both with its optical quality and its small size, so it was a no brainer to get another and put them in the bino, in which, for me, they excel, and give me 146X, and .56 deg at native, in Andromeda.  :happy11:

They are very fine eyepieces and I almost set about collecting them myself, being such fine performers.  I had a 16mm but sold it a couple of years back to someone on this forum.

The Meade 3000 series started with the Japan made 9.5mm for me, it’s a very nice unit indeed.

The new addition was available and Japan made too so I had to go for it, a slow burn collection, but I will collect Japan made ones as they become available and I have funds.

My Avalon X-Guider has finally arrived from The Widescreen Centre.  Was really looking forward to using it at our dark skies event this past weekend, unfortunately the weather gods had other ideas ?  Here it is with my new Primaluce rings and my 80mm Finder in situ?

Primaluce colour is growing on me ? Might get the 95mm tube rings for my Tak to replace or fit alongside the clam clamp.

Little and large: the Fujiyama HD-OR 4 next to the Luminos 82 deg 23 mm (which has escaped the de-cloaking fashion)

But if you got hip and with it Jeremy the 23mm would be as small and light as the 4mm once de-cloaked :wink2:

Good point Alan. However, the 4 mm is feeling somewhat inferior and is trying to find a place to hide in my eyepiece bag to escape being bullied. So if anyone has a spare cloak I could dress it up in, then perhaps I should do that. Or maybe somebody with appropriate skills could knit a nice warm cloak for it. Failing that, I could always resort to Lego:

Ah, the 4mm just needs to use The Force to protect it and other smaller EP.
