What did the postman bring?

Recommended Posts

Well, Mr DHL (In a plain van, like the one they'll take me away in lol) finally delivered my mitre saw. It's in the garage, photos to follow when I take delivery of a round tuit, ad it stops chucking it down, had a thinner shower in the bathroom.

For helping remove the very stubborn screws on my SW ED80 holding the focuser on.

Concerned you will remove the paint with the use of a blow torch.
Would a hair dryer not be a safer bet, or are you beyond that stage?

That is a lovely EP, it is one of my most used. You will have hours of fun with that one 👍

Thanks, I'm pretty excited about my first TV. It's a big step up from BST starguiders!

Just a question: do you manage to take in the whole FOV? I did a brief daylight test and I didn't seem to be able to see more than 80-90% of the field at once.

However I did manage to see details never before seen on the house at the other end of the street. Exciting stuff 😉

A hair dryer would have been loads safer and I did try a few things but to no avail unfortunately so went for it very cautiously....😬

Nice to see something in a nice Matt black opposed to an anodised gloss black finish, cheers FLO 👍🏻

The Nofan has arrived and I can now make progress on my ASC or at least try it and see if it does what I want.

Well, I also managed to take delivery of a round tuit, and it's stopped raining for the mo, so here are some photos.

IMG_20191019_132854.thumb.jpg.1398fc38aacfd436cf2b3a531cd3feae.jpg

That is a BIG box, and as heavy as it looks. Opening it revealed

IMG_20191019_133011.thumb.jpg.9893acc97bba848303b7c8d3bdff55f0.jpg

A tray of bits and bobs. Taking the tray out revealed the main event.

IMG_20191019_133403.thumb.jpg.7b6e5737b6a307de0d8a0da754de5c6a.jpg

Looks complicated. After wrestling with the styrofoam packings (Which wanted to come out too) I managed to get the saw out of the box and onto the floor.

IMG_20191019_134144.thumb.jpg.963bef62ffb931f5929251b08ea803e6.jpg

Now going to RTFM, to avoid removing fingers, or even hands.

I have a horrible feeling that I may need to mitre the sole plates the hard way with a jig saw, as I think it will be too unbalanced in the mitre saw.

I have had a mitre saw for years it’s been one of the most used Power tools I have.

Post person delivered early today as I left home, only just opened the FLO parcel.
My much looked forward to 0.75 Dioptrx unit.
I hope my views will improve, may still yet need a Coma Corrector as well, you know how it never ends!

Of course I may decide to have more than one Dioptrx as well to save messing about,
Butt at £92 each,perhaps not.

After some thought I've added a saw bench and free standing support for the long timbers I'll have to cut up.

You know, I've not used one of that sort of design for so long that it didn't occur to me.  I'm sure I must still have one somewhere though.
