What did the postman bring?

Not quite in the same league, but this arrived in the post today for me:

This is to replace the Helios binoculars that I am finding increasingly hard and uncomfortable to use. It has what is described as: " Extra-low Dispersion glass for optimum clarity, " which is nice... The lens has a green tint to it, but then again so do my Helios Binos. The image as seen is sharper/better than the Binos I would say, but I will know better when I get a little clear sky. It is 10 x 42. It is also much lighter than the Binos at around 325grammes. A distinct improvement, at least as far as terrestrial use in concerned and better than the very cheap Chinese monocular I used to have.

A set of four camera lens pouches...

The middle two pouches I shall use for storing/transporting the 'bad boyz' 'bad boys'...

EDIT: I just found a use for the 'big' pouch, (the one on the left)... keeping PSU and cables for my Android tablet in one place, (and on me when I am out & about with it).

😜

John - I don't think I'd go that far!!  😱     :laugh2:

Would cost more than the 10” dob I intend to buy myself for Xmas. 😂

I see you're local John.

Once i'm up and running with it ( i'm having a little bit of work done on the base to make it a good fit with my OO Dob)

you'd be very welcome to drop by and check it out.

A humble GSO Wratten #29 1.25" filter. But not delivered by the postman, I bought it in a real-life bricks-and-mortar astronomy shop!

Thanks to @wookie1965 the postman dropped off my first 'proper' eyepiece today - very well packaged and speedy delivery - and it must have escaped the cloud gods radar because its been crystal clear outside.

Had some wonderful views of Saturn and Jupiter and loving how much more is visible than with the meade super plossl. Going to take a bit of getting used to getting my eye positioned correctly.

Once dark adapted though I looked up and the view was magnificent without a telescope so settled for enjoying 20 minutes of that before packing up. Very clear outside right now and the best milkyway visibility I have seen all year. Almost long exposure photo clear.
