What did the postman bring?

TeleVue Nagler 9 mm Type 6.

I'm a late-comer to the TV stable. What I like about many of the TV EP's is that they are relatively compact, compared to some of their bulkier brethren. This makes them a bit more convenient for travel.

Arrived in th post this morning - a couple of M8 x 200mm coach bolts to hold a bracket for my observatory roof automation.  Well, one for that use the other for stock (2 was minimum order).

I've fallen in love with Berlebach wooden tripods.

A Berlebach Report has just arrived. Intended to be used with my SW AZ GTi and Tak FC76 DCU. The tripod and head together are easily carried in one hand and the Tak OTA in the other (although I wouldn't necessarily recommend this! 🙂 )

I like Berlebach wooden tripod too, but presently have none due to finances.

That is a tidy set up Jeremy.
Have not seen the small counterweight used before, how have you done that?

Hello Alan, I got the counterweight bar from Astroboot (simply screws into the AZ GTi) and the counterweight itself is from Skywatcher:

Please please please buy more astro gear. Lots more. This heatwave is killing me. Not as hot here as last year, but it's not far off it.

That's what I keep telling the wife, but she's not having it

Clear blue skies, solar scope at the ready and it’s too flippin hot to use it. 😩

I’ve retreated to the bedroom as it has air con and watching TV with a cold drink to hand. 👍🏻

Ordered these on Sunday - turned up today. 67 quid delivered... well, I say delivered. Left outside the front door hoping I got to them before some light fingered geezer had 'em away would be more accurate!

There may be a report on how good the clouds look later..... 😂😂20190723_201050.thumb.jpg.11fc805b96fc9e1a6e3107fd09738d23.jpg

You can never have too many scopes, I've heard said. So not wanting to be left behind, this was delivered by internal mail. An unwanted gift for a friend from his wife. Used only 2 times, both by me! The MD bought from them as a combined Birthday/Christmas present! :)

Grab and go, innit :)

I wrote about its first light here:

Finally got a Cheshire/sight-tube for my 'scope so I can do my secondary collimation perfectly - the FLO premium one, since the Catseye one is pricey and on a long lead time.

Plus a Catseye spotting template for my 200mm primary and a hotspot. I'll get an autocollimator eventually - but it's going to be great to nail down the secondary and get the mirrors perfect before I embark on replacing my focuser...
