Seeing Red

Being relatively new to astronomy, I haven't got a lot of experience in the different colors of stars yet.  I have seen the orange of Aldebaran, as well as the blue and yellow of Albireo.  I love the bright blue of Rigel as well.  However, what really has my interest at current time is seeing some nice red stars.  The only one I have observed, admittedly not enough, is Herschel's Garnet Star.

What are some of your favorite red stars?  I'd love to add them to my list!

Clear skies folks, and enjoy the dark moon and Geminids!!

Pocket Sky Atlas shows 55 carbon stars identified according to a CN review.

Interstellarum atlas has more (CN) but they are not differenciated from others.

I am interested in reds as well, but as much the older Population 1 types found in globulars, centres of spirals & throughout elliptical galaxies.

There are of course red dwarf stars but at low magnitudes usually.
