DSS and Flats

Hi All,

I am really having some issue with flats for my asi1600. I have tried 10000,12000 and 25000 adu settings using APT's flat aid. When I add the flats to DSS and register these with the Lights it start to show around 80000 stars in the process and really takes ages to register.

When I open the finished image in startools I just get a very dark back ground and lots of white dots. I know I could probably get other software to see if this helps but at the moment my jar is empty so I have no choice but to try and sort this.

Any help really would be appreciated. The histogram is showing in between 1/4 and 1/2. Should it be 1/2 way? Do I also need to use Dark Flats?

I've found with the ASI1600MM-C that dark flats are essential. What's your exposure time with the flats and re you taking them at the same temperature and gain?
