Show me your mismatched EP collection

JOC

Recommended Posts

My EP set has changed in the past week, but still contains 6 brands (including the Barlow).

I needed to raise some cash, so sadly the 2 Tak's had to go..but I found 3 lovely but much cheaper ones to replace them and am looking forward to first light..

From Left to right, back row:

Genuine Burgess/TMB 3.2,mm, 4mm, 5mm, Pentax XL 10.5, XF 12, Baader Zoom Barlow X2.25

From Left to Right, front row:

Celestron Ultima Wide Angle 15mm (rare), Vixen LVW 22mm, Revelation Superview 30mm, Pentax SMC zoom 8-24mm... and a pretty spare Tak diagonal for good measure..

And my mismatched pluck foam kind of matches my mismatched eyepiece set?.

Dave

I know I'm late to the party but I just took a self indulgent picture after completing my collection 😁

Not totally mismatched but close enough I think. It is funny how we get attached to eyepieces that we know are not that great (I could never get rid of my Vixen NPL).

Nothing wrong with any of those

Thankyou. I dont have a fortune to spend but I thought I should spend the most on the shorter focal lengths.

My decision now is whether to buy a 1.25 or 2inch UHC filter?

I'm not gonna rush that one tho. I've never even looked through a filter yet. Just gonna spend more time sketching nebula and see which eyepiece I end up using the most.

Wow! In the nicest possible way, that is a ridiculous amount of eyepieces!

Must give you a great basis for comparison tho, I will be coming to you for any future advice 😁

My OCD would be going crazy, I cant have more than 5 or 6. And if I had more than one of the same focal length I would have to chose the best one and sell the rest.

Great varied collection 👏

Here's my mismatched collection as of last fall.  Zooms are repeated at each tested focal length.  Someday I'll have to figure out how to get them all in one group shot.

Quite the contrary.  I've gotten several more since these photos were taken and at least one more is on the way.  You should see my still and video camera and lens collection stored away in 10 or 15 Tamrac cases and assorted boxes.  When I die, my wife and kids won't know what to make of any of it.

I'm an OCD hoarder, so everything is organized by type in dedicated cases.  I think 7 at last count.

Hi all, I do not specifically collect sets but I have a good few eyepieces in common, such as the Naglers, ExSc and the BST StarGuiders, but here is some in my odds case:

Your foam cutting skills are exquisite!

I don't cut and remove the foam from my cases. I've found that I can break the foam around the outline of the eyepiece then press the eyepiece down which leaves an impression that the eyepiece then sits in held in place by the foam in the lid. If you change eyepieces (which I used to do a lot !) you can pull the foam back up and then repeat the process for the new eyepiece size and shape.

It's kept my cases going though many eyepiece changes

A little bored and struggling with processing images using SIril. Reading the forum and came across these posts which is much more enjoyable. Here is my collection, a few purchased from members at SGL. I started in April at the beginning of lockdown - a little overlap however i've never looked through any other eyepieces apart from these so enjoying the journey so far.

The SV113 12mm Svbony 60 degree eyepiece was my first upgrade from the stock eyepieces - £24 and it's actually really good.
