The Mountain Centre car park band grounds are accessible all the time. I've been observing there many times.  It is sheltered, has seats (and usually toilets with hot air blowers useful for hand warming ?).  It would be my preference.  

I will probably not be able to get there until between 7:30 and 8 though.

Thanks for the replies. I myself won't be able to get to the Mountain Centre as my local route to the A40 is closed due to an accident; so I'm with Tony on this one, observing from home. All the best to those venturing out to a darker venue, drive safe.

Yes I think tonight I will be camping out in the back garden. When the conditions improve, I would definitely be up for a trip to either the reservoir or the Mountain Centre in addition to the usual Blaenavon venue.

Yes I agree conditions are not the best at the moment sadly. Definitely up for a meet up at either location in the near future, hopefully we can keep this topic going and find a good time soon

It's cloud free here in North Bristol. Just have the street lights to contend with.

Yes was a lovely clear sky from 20:00hrs. Had my mount take me on a nice tour, lovely view of the Double Cluster and M31/32.

I managed to get out about 11pm. 

Clouds occasionally but a lot of moisture in the air making for a milky seeing.

Stayed out until 3am when the clouds rolled in totally.

Nothing exciting, time spent learning new software and remembering which end of the telescope to look through.

It was clouded over for me  so I spent some time on the computer. Finally bought a CZJ M44 Diagonal ! ! ! 

Christmas for our Telementor-1 comes early, so it wasn't such a bad night after all.

Happy Christmas all - been an odd couple of years for me personally but I fully intend getting back involved when I can - great to see Mike keeping everything going for the group in S Wales and best wishes to all for the New Year
