Against the Wall

I had the feet of the tripod against the side wall of the back garden to catch the sun in clear skies between the houses this morning... getting a  solar scope has really made me realise how much lower the sun is in the winter.

Some wonderful filaments on display, a bright plage region and some prom action.  Double stacking makes the world of difference on filaments, and contrast on proms is enhanced.  I'm very happy indeed with the DS filter!  Seeing wasn't the best, tried my 2.5xPM on my Pan24, 13T6 and 15mm plossl: the 15mm was best today. The camera phone photo below does no justice to the smashimg detail visually / what can be seen at the EP, but it is fun to try
