DIY Mount power and dew control hub

Yes i know yet another one....lol

i wnted to make one nice and small to fit tomthe head of my EQ6 mount, consisted of 2 Chanel 4 port dew controller, 5v output for my Startech usb to CAT 6 hub, and between 6 and 8, 12v Power outputs of which 4 will be standard 5.5mm jacks of good quality and all metal and no plastic, and 2 or 4 x 2 pin microphone sockets the same as the one found on the EQ8 mount.

i made a start today and got the ABS project box marked up, drilled and got the dew controllers fitted and tested, the box is 150 x 84 x 42mm in size, so quite small and it will be tight..

Well got most of it finished today, but still waiting for the 2 pin screw on connectors to arrive which will just fit into the right front of the box.

Put 2 pieces of vero board in to connect the + and - wires all independently rather than connecting in series, just felt it would be better although there is more wires which makes it all a tight fit, main cable is 15amp and found a nice big ferrite beed to fit to that cable, just to help with any electrical interferance, and an internal inline 10amp fuse fitted,

The 12v to 5v adapter is fitted to the lid as the lid is 15mm deep so needed to make use of that space as would not fit in main box, lid fits on nicely.

Finished it off today, fitted last two screw on 12v connectors,  and found an ingenious way of attaching to mount, i recieved my polemaster camera and for reason not known, it came with two caps on the adapter, so fixed one of these to the base of the power hub, and uses existing polemaster adapter...see pictures.

Those small Bus Bars are really neat and tidy, where did you get them from?

I like the idea of using the polemaster attachment however I leave mine permanently attached and it would just be another thing to remember when setting up.

I use 3M Dual lock now to secure my Windcamp Rig Runner, USB Hub and Dew Controller to my Mount and Scopes, it is simply superb and works like the principle of Sticky Bricks that my kids played with many years ago, I reckon it would support a couple of Kgs.
