The latest in my attempt at round stars with my nt150. It looks as though I'm getting somewhere although the light frames still show some elongation. When stacked, the elongation is reduced. Not sure why. All the frames were ok until the tube crashed into the mount, 5 minutes from the meridian.

Not sure about the halos on bright stars when I use a filter on the nosepiece....

Yes, it's a keeper for me too. Tonight it's m103 which I think not so pretty, but still with the bright and dim star challenge to look forward to whilst processing:(  Probably try it without a filter to see if it's any easier...

Hi. Thanks for your comment.

TBH, I found out only recently -by accident replying to 'recent topics'- that the posts to which I was replying belonged to sections other than beginners. My questions and doubts in moving toward the dark art remain very much at novice level...

Ok it's weird if you don't watch the program. :p

Woups I forgot to say: I meant, I like your picture very much, and like Red Meteor, it's professional grade! Thanks for sharing it. (When a smith will forge a very good weapon in the program Forged in Fire, Doug Marcaida will say "your weapon will kill sir," with the Doug Marcaida smile, that's the ultimate reward there)
