Sky at Night Magazine Equatorial Platform

Hi,

Is anyone else attempting to build the Sky at Night magazine equatorial platform (from Nov and Dec 2017 issues)?

Looks really useful, so I thought I'd have a go for my Skywatcher 200 dob.

I'm reasonably DIY competent, but struggling a bit with the rather sparse instructions. Two main questions at the moment:

1) anyone got some good photos of the thing assembled? - I can't visualise how everything fits together

2) I'm trying to match the excel calculator output with the drawings - but how do you calculate what is referred to in the drawings as the 'calculated height of the south or north segments'? There doesn't seem to be a correlation. A set of calculated platform dimensions for the SW200 would be useful if anyone else has attempted them.

I'm sure I'll have loads more questions as I get further on but if anyone can help at this stage I'd be really grateful!

Thanks,

Julian
