Naturally this is a popular target with guests, which means I can accumulate data and combine it to keep chipping away at the quality of the final image. Last night we ran the dual Tak rig on this for

... and all because astronomers love ... M42!

Super image, and astounding how you tamed the dynamic range. M42 must be one of the most complex structures drifting out there. Btw, the law of diminishing returns is always an hour away.

Wow! It’s akin to being under a really dark sky for the first time and not being able to recognise the constellations because of the number of stars.

There is so much detail which is usually  hidden, to my eyes it is almost not recognisable as the familiar M42 region.

We all wish for clear skies, but some parts of it are revealed to be Astronomically cloudy when you can image like this.

Simply outstanding Olly.  It has been a marathon getting from data collection, to final processing, but By Gum it has been worth all that effort.   It deserves   the highest of accolades, and I hope they happen. A well done to the other contributers to this work. I'm assuming you've included data gathered by guests imaging from your site.
