Wobbly Bob
Has any one tried binoviewers in an Solar Max 60, are there any focusing issues ?
Peter Drew
I haven't tried one on a Solarmax60, but if necessary, a Barlow (lens only) from a SW 2X Barlow screwed into the nosepiece of the binoviewer should do the trick. Be prepared to use long focus eyepieces though.
Wobbly Bob
Thanks Peter, What do you mean by long focus eyepieces ?
Floater
I think Peter is referring to EPs with a long focal length, i.e. 25-30mm and more. I use 25mm EPs in my Lunt/bino setup, where I have to use a 2x nosepiece or 2.5x Powermate to achieve focus. Previously, as Peter suggests, I used the lens unscrewed from a Barlow and screwed onto the binoviewer. The higher focal length EPs help to compensate for the inevitable increase in magnification. Hope that helps.
