So that's what double stacking does!

The sun came out for a bit this afternoon and between the trees I managed to get about 30 mins of viewing.

I used my 60mm double stack filter for the first time and wow the views are transformed as several people have said. Dark filaments over the surface looking lovely and 3 significant proms. Contrast is obviously improved.

i only had time for a quick look and I haven't spent anytime tuning but what I saw was great. Just like the GONG pictures of today which show lots of Ha activity even though there are no sun spots.

Are you thinking of imaging with it  ??     I would be interested in the comparative results of having the double-stack.

Sean.

No just visual for me. I'll let the imagers here comment on the difference for imaging.
