thanks Fozzie, this is a asi120mc for a change at 1200x900 per panel added together 4600x900 huge works out  a lot bigger than I get with my 1200d, clear skys. charl.  ps sorry got the math wrong its 3600x1200 my brain hasn't woke up yet :happy7:...

agreed MG, never say never, I wonder what mag it would take ? heres my wild guess to see the lander x1800 that's 3 times whats possible with the cleanest clear skys. charl.

1800X is about the "magnification" some do imaging at already... a 3X Barlow on a 1/2" CCD through a 8 or 10" scope that around f10 native would be about that...

i think the limitation is in the wavelengthvtgat the atmosphere cuts out... give or take 380nm??? And is that is the highest frequency that can penetrate the atmosphere than there is the limitation to how much detail can be "encoded" into a certain wavelength or frequency of light... 380nm at 350,000km was about 650m/pixel detail... now that was with perfect seeing and transparency (I looked into exactly this read about it a while ago)...

I'm sure that there is a way to overcome that limitation.

arhh so you you want to take a pic then, I would of been happy to just see it :happy7:, agree with the tec-details I think the biggist prob would be seeing with the atmos it makes anything above 600x very hard here in the uk with the permacloud. charl.

After imaging a couple of images I have in mind... one of which is being imaged in the LAB as I write,  I'll join you get into imaging the moon and the sun, see what eventuates...

The permacloud is a problem...
