Lunt HDC eyepieces

Marcus mentioned this project earlier this year, but it must be nearly ready for market. I can't believe they're aimed at use in binoculars! But I guess why not?

I got the first good session with the 9mm I picked up at IAS last night. I'm impressed.

A totally different experience to the 9mm Morpheus - which is going nowhere - which presents the image floating in front of you in a huge eye lens and disappearing eyepiece body.

It's not immersive in that way. Never-the-Iess the view was clean and easy to take in. It had a lot of focused time in my 150PDS with a 30mm finder to assist in star hopping. I also found it to be very nearly parfocal with both the Morpheus and Vixen SLVs I use which is very convenient.

The 20mm may be a step nearer to the shopping basket, and now a 12.5mm... ?

If anyone's thinking of trying one of these now might be a good time.

APM have a "Violet Friday" sale on today and the whole range (including the 20mm) seem to be available for under €200 each.

Just a heads-up ;)

PS The 12.5/13mm isn't available yet unfortunately.
