M31 revisited

Hi all,

Bored with the cloudy weather I decided to revisit some images taken last November with a Canon 20Da I had for a week. Here's a rework of M31 the galaxy that had always given me grief.

Original version (blue and fluffy) here: http://www.digitalsky.org.uk/dso/M31-2005.html

Larger version of that posted can be found here: http://www.digitalsky.org.uk/dso/M31-2006.html

Ah - I see what you're getting at now James. No - I don't use filters at all. For this particular shot M31 was nearly overhead.

Yes the full size version is quite impressive (if I'm allowed to say that ) and would make a good poster. The camera I used was on very short term loan - in fact I had it to use for just a week as part of a review item for the Sky at Night magazine. This morning, the postie knocked on the door and now I have my very own 20Da to love and cherish .
