Down time

Short summer nights, early morning commitments and the usual poor weather often means plenty of down time for all that expensive astronomy kit so is anyone else guilty of just setting their kit up in the middle of the living room and playing with it pretending there actually is some distant nebula in the eyepiece ??

new kit in nov test till dec and go on the floor till next aug or sep when I start setting up again .

Yup just so I don’t forget how to use the mount.

I did have my refractor set up quite recently in the back room on the rug, the excuse was that I had recently purchased a scope cover and wanted to try it for size and when fully equipped. The forecast is disappointing, so down time will certainly continue.

I guess that's one plus for imaging, there is something else to do on cloudy nights, just need to make sure I use every rare opportunity to capture some data.
