Stock dslr targets?

Recommended Posts

Hi, recently i bought an astronomik cls filter to go with my stock dslr and was wondering what are some good starter objects to image. I have a skywatcher ed80 on a goto equatorial mount with no autoguiding and my southern sky for the most part blocked by houses, and my eastern sky has some houses in the way too. Any ideas?

Galaxies are good targets for a stock dslr, clusters too. Maybe give the guided tour function on your handset a go to see what takes your fancy.

Yes, before i got my cls filter i did quite alot of galaxies like andromeda. I dont quite remember the specs on this image

If you don't have it then for me Stellarium is a must I too have blocked south views and houses east.  M31 (andromeda) M45 Pleiades and Ngc889 (perseus double cluster) are high enough to avoid the obstructions to your views.

Dave...

just seen you've done M31
