Some test shots with new Herschel prism, two days of clear sky upon its arrival, never happens?     .9 neutral density filter + solar continuum filter, 2.5 x barlow, 3000mm.  Close up 200%.

Very good captures there!! The detail around the penumbra is excellent.

Which camera did you use - ASI 174?, how short were the exposures?

Just having the ND0.6 + Continuum gives a hellava lot of light to play with.....

I had never seen inverted black and white pics of the sun's skin; they are interesting. Brings out the dark cells in the grain.

Thanks, yeah the .9 had little room for adjustments even with a 2.5 barlow.  A couple logs:

Could be that .ser is a better format for video on 16 bit than .avi
