Widefield between the rain clouds!

Recommended Posts

Two clear nights in a 10 day period of rain at a dark sky location in S Cornwall. I didn't have a scope or tracking mount, so this is six frames stacked in DSS, untracked, ISO 1600, 28mm Nikon prime lens plus SW LP filter. Lyra and Cygnus region of the MW, 6000x4000 image reduced to 1000. The only visible lighting were farm security lights, a faint glow from Plymouth and the farmer with his torch checking a pregnant goat!

Nb, I'm not an imager, and no good at image processing - it's probably obvious!

It must still have been quite dark location as that looks a lot of image for 6 frames, nice capture.

Thanks. Exposure times were 15 secs at f2.8.

Darkest site I have been to in the UK for many years, with M31 easily visible to the naked eye DV as an oval the size of a fingetnail, and through 15x70s as a defined shape filling the fov.  I could see M110 through the bins too, a first for me.
