Ubuntu Astronamy vs Distro Astro

Basically trying to decide between these two operating systems, obviously I will comparing them myself. Just looking for pros, cons of existing users...

Did wonder why I have been having trouble downloading it!

Already made myself a live dvd of the Ubuntu Astronomy so I think I will just focus on testing that.

Shame, would of been nice to have options and I did like the idea of the Nightvision mode.

Is that a persistent live one ?

I was playing at returning to the Linux fold a few days ago and made a live DVD of plain Mint but unless I missed a trick it seems either not to be persistent or missing from the LiLi supported list.

I haven't made a persistent one no, only made it to see if it is any good before considering a partition on the laptops harddrive as I hate windows. 

Linux mint is great I'm running 18.2 (Sonya) cinnamon desktop and highly recommend it. 

https://www.pendrivelinux.com/ is a useful tool for making reliable persistent storage on a bootable USB stick

Ubuntu Astronomy 16.04 is my open project.

1. you can install it on your computer (default password is: 12341234);

2. you can use it without installation (live DVD mode);

So, you can use it with or without installation.

How can we get this night vision mode?

At first, we have to install one utility for terminal:

sudo apt-get install redshift

Switch On:

redshift -O 1000

Switch Off:

redshift -x
