Julia and Iris

Recommended Posts

Asteroid Julia, at 9 mag. in Pegasus is well placed. I saw it yesterday, and tonight it's moved a bit, not Florence proportions, but noticeable over a day - perhaps half a degree.  I also looked at another asteroid, Iris in Aries. A bit brighter, close to mag. 8 and brightening. They are well worth following over the autumn. Both are shown accurate in Sky Safari.

Thanks for the info.   I was able to see both of those asteroids before the Moon got too bright.  It's interesting to follow them as they move along.   Two others are nearby also and worth a look.   They are Interamnia in Pegasus  currently about 9.11 and Nysa at the Aires/Cetus border at mag 9.6 according to Starry Nights.   I haven't seen Nysa yet, but I'll give it a try when I get a chance
