What a fabulous site and a stunning location. Hope it stays clear...there's clouds coming over my way tonight but at the moment it looks unlikely!

Last night was clear with lots of stars out but the milkyway was strangely abscent. There were plenty of views but they were mushy ones.

We packed up around midnight with the temperature dropping to a chilly -5°C and retired for a warm.

Waking this morning the skies were still clear but revealed what we were trying to see through.

I viewed a lot of targets and was happy hopping all over the skies without the permacloud being there.

Most packed up around the same time with Dai packing up about an hour later after spending about half an hour trying for caldwell 5 (IC342) a spiral galaxy in camelopardalis without success.

The weather forecast isn't looking any good now until friday/Saturday when the colder weather returns.

Shame it was not really clear. Mike says the site has dried out OK so not plodging. The weather has been all over the place for the last few years. Got to get some luck shortly.

Looks like we'll be trying some of the malt tonight. Can you recommend this Macallan Gold Derren :icon_biggrin:

Mike has brought us something to remind us of abscent friends

A few tiny patches of clouds about here but the sky is pretty much clear at present.

We aren't sure how much whispy high stuff their is though as its disappeared now the sun has set. It definitely blighted last nights views :undecided:

The field looks pretty deserted. How many of you are there?

The field has filled up since the last shot. I'd say around 15 upto now but more joining us tomorrow.

Had plenty of high cloud after sunset last night which gave little clear patches here and there which made viewing very difficult/non-existant so decided to "chill out" in the warm room for a while.

Popped out about 10ish with the intention of putting the cover over the dob for the night and saw the high cloud had mostly cleared but leaving a very washed out and milky sky similar to monday night.

Thought I'd try for a couple of faint fuzzies before packing away but ended up having a bit of a session where I bagged 10 new NGCs in Leo :icon_biggrin: The views were pretty awful but they all count nonetheless!

Big thanks to Mike for the warm welcome. Great to look through Damian's dob and spot the horse head again. And cheers Adrian and Julian for helping me pitch my tent, chase it across two fields, repair it and pitch it again!!

I am sure the clouds will clear, after I arrive tomorrow :headbang:

Well this is what the sky looked like on Tuesday night around 10:15pm albeit with a little stretching .

North is at the top but east is on the left and west on the right.
