Solar Sunglasses question

Could anyone please give out any ideas on how to create a pair of lenses for a normal sunglasses frame which could be for everyday use as sunglasses and the ability to stare at the sun without any damage?

I had an idea where the light would be scattered towards the edges of the glass and bounce from side to side before hitting your eyes. Could this work?

If not, could something similar to vehicle window tinting or a type of ultra sensitive transition lenses work?

Solar filters would not allow use as normal sunglasses, its far, far more blocking to the level of light.
I think your idea is a no go and quite dangerous, please, please do not try this!

Eclipse glasses clearly stated on them not to be used for more than 15 minutes and that was decent solar film.
You only have one set of eyes, they are priceless.

I don't think your idea would work. Under no circumstances should you use anything other than the correct solar filter film or glass for viewing the sun, anything other than a proper solar filter could permanently damage your eyes. Baader Astrosolar film blocks out 99.999% of the sunlight making it safe to view the sun through telescopes or binoculars fitted with a correctly fitted filter.

The same answers apply as they did when you asked on Cloudy Nights  .....  before you flatly refused to accept any advice given by those who know and just persisted in repeating the question ad nauseum ... which as you recall resulted in the thread being deleted ..... :hmh:

ausquerila, If you attempt to view the Sun with anything other than approved filtration, you will be in grave danger
of losing your sight. You will find no one on SGL to sanction any kind of Heath Robinson gadget for Solar viewing.

This warning especially applies to you, If you intend observing through a Telescope, not only
will you damage your instrument, you will blind yourself.
Please take this as our final word on this Issue.

You can ask the question wherever you like , you will still receive the very same answers and you will continue to ignore them ... :BangHead:

We could quite easily direct you to other forums where the question could be asked but it would be like passing on a virus and completely unfair to those sites.
