Eclipse viewed from weather satellites

I download weather satellite image data direct from Eutelsat 10A each day via a DVB-S2 receiver. These are uploaded to the satellite by EUmetsat from geostationary and polar orbiting weather satellites. I use several programs provided by David Taylor at www.satsignal.eu to transform the data into images. Here are two that show the eclipse. They are in false colour where visible, infra-red and water vapour images are blended into RG & B. The images are quite large.

Geostationary satellite Meteosat 10 at 0 degrees longtitude, height 36,000km. Full disk, false colour image at 19:30 GMT. Image size 3712 x 3712 pixels, 2.36MB. Eclipse over the North Atlantic. A full disk image is provided every 15 mins.

Sun-synchronous polar orbiting satellite Metop-B, height 817km, orbital period 101 mins. False colour image travelling N-S from 17:28 to 17:52 GMT. Image size 2048 x 9720, 2.89MB. Eclipse over Idaho. Because the image is built up as the satellite orbits, the eclipse displays a slight skew. Due to the low orbital height the left and right edges of the image are foreshortened.

Hope you like them.

Edit - Viewed at full scale on the forum the images show significant posterization around the eclipse but if you download them and view them they are much better.
