HEQ5 mount on CG5 2" tripod?

I'm considering buying an HEQ5 which I believe has 1.75" legs, but I already have the CG5 tripod which may be sturdier with the 2" legs.

Can anyone tell me if an HEQ5 mount head will fit on the 2" CG5 tripod?

Sorry for the slow reply Jon - I missed this post 1st time around.

Yes it will fit - the EQ3-2, EQ5, HEQ5, CG4 and CG5 all have the same mount head to tripod fitting.

The CG5 tripod is quite a bit sturdier than the HEQ5 one and quite a bit taller as well.

Thanks for confirming the fit. I do like my CG5 so it's good to know it's multi-purpose.

Just got to "find" the cash for the HEQ5 now
