Hey everyone. I'm planning to go to the carpark in the sky, up at the campsies tonight to watch the meteor shower. Does anyone know if the sky will be clear tonight?

I don't like Scott Mills, but one of the best features he had on his show was "Yesterday's Weather":

Yes, it was nice and clear, lovely evening. Hope you enjoyed it and got some meteors :)

Any idea what area of sky to see these?

I was out last night with the telescope and saw about 4 or 5 over a 2 hour peoriod. Personally I was looking south, but I'm not sure on the best area/direction to look.

These may help:

Perseid Meteors - All You Need To Know - No. 1.pdf

&

Perseid Meteors - All You Need To Know - No. 2.pdf

Just generally speaking, the 'radiant' (center of activity) is between North & East.

Hope it helps,

Dave

We are out camping. On the 12th when it was at its peak i saw about 6 over roughly 30mins. It was a bit cloudy now and again so did not see as much as i would have liked.
