The ISO 12312 safety standard recently adopted for VISUAL filters (to further reduce the possible injury from UV light) means that some of the astronomical filters are no longer recognised as being "safe".

Note, is ONLY applies to non-optical (naked eye) observations.

We can recommend the product from Rainbow Symphony. We bought 2000 of them for the 1999 UK eclipse. I would avoid ones that look like aluminium cooking foil, not on the grounds of safety if they are certified safe, but because of back light reflections spoiling the view.   :icon_biggrin:
