NEQ6 Counterweight upgrade

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this has been posted before but have just fitted the Orion counterweight bar upgrade pic below it is a 25mm shaft that screws into the collar rather than sliding in and out like the standard bar you do need to drill out your existing weights or you can buy weights already with correct size hole I believe the latest AZ-EQ6 use them this is a nice solid item and because it screws directly to the collar you do not get the weights flopping down when the mount rotates link to site  http://uk.telescope.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=109968

Was ordered Monday turned up today Wednesday total cost inc shipping £71.88

Hi There,

I am just about to purchase one of these as the weight of my 10"F4 and guiding rig is pushing the limit in terms of counterbalance, and the original bar.

Has it been a successful upgrade, would you recommend it and how easy is it to do ??

Many thanks for any info.

Sean.

Yes it was a good upgrade for me it is a nice solid item and no movement of the weights now, very easy to fit just remember you need a bigger centre hole in the weights
