July 21, 2017: WL and Ca-K sun (warning: boring and just slightly less boring)

"Im Westen Nichts Neues" was the book title that spang to mind when I recorded the sun as it moved westwards late this afternoon.

Still, some disks for the record, I suppose.

The latter two reveal some very faint proms, but I couldn't be bothered to get the H-alpha kit out, especially as clouds were approaching. Best at full res, but still not much to see

I took a look this afternoon as well, finally mobile enough to use a scope again.
As to boring, yes a bit plain, but if you don't look you don't know!

great discs Michael, theres some Ca-K action mate. I look at boring as its a different type of boring each day. I feel like theres something coiming round the limb soon "fingers crossed". charl.

Its all a bit "after the lord mayors show" with the Sun at the moment. Still nice looking discs despite the lack of activity at the moment! A/R2665 AR???? will be back around before we know it
