July 10, 2017: H-alpha lunchtime session

Recommended Posts

Had the SolarMax-II 60mm DS out during lunch. AR 2665 is still going strong, with loads of intricate dark and bright filamentous structure surrounding the main spot. I spotted a particularly dark, curved filament due west of the AR, seemingly part of the same complex. It wasn't present yesterday. Several other, less conspicuous filaments could be seen in the southern hemisphere, and a bright plage area could be spotted northwards. A large prom was visible in the north-west, but the beautiful hedgerow in the east seems to have vanished. Fingers crossed I can image some of this after work
