AR2665 from the 9.7.2017

Todays offerings, plenty of cloud and poor seeing later. So no chance of a mosaic!

The 1st image is from the morning, with a X3 Barlow. The 2nd is from the afternoon with a X2 Barlow and X2.5 Powermate doubled up! Interesting how the light bridge has changed position during the day. Still not managed a really detailed image, the Penumbra in particular can be a lot better resolved given the right conditions.

Nice detail in the images.

Well done.

Pretty pants conditions in the Bedfordshire area today as you would know James, mixture of high haze, cloud and poor seeing in the afternoon. Forecast for the week looks very changeable, hopefully might manage a look when the spot is facing directly at Earth.

to add to your excellent images (and show the progression) here's one from about 2pm which shows the intermediate stage!

Fabulous sketches, I wish I could draw like that!

It's taken me a while to start to get anything close to what I see. Personally, I feel a bit cheeky sometimes adding to threads like yours but love comparing my sketches with such excellent images and it confirms I was seeing what I thought I was seeing!

I struggle with real art, splodges and smudges are OK though!
