12v Mains PSU

Hi All,

Just a couple of quick questions: -

1. I have been waiting for these to come in stock Nevada 12v PSU FLO say it will be some time before they get stock, Nevada say they are awaiting stock from the far east, does anyone have any other suggestions for mains powered unit that are light enough to carry outside, I'm even thinking about putting it in our enclosed lean to and and running a 12v feed out to the mount?

2. Skywatcher say between 11 - 16v, so can I safely presume that 13.8v is safe and won't blow my mount, I'm rubbish at calculating electrics.

Thanks in anticipation.

I bought a generic PSU from Maplin that could be set to a wide range of voltages and had a variety of tips. I used it first for my Skywatcher alt az mount with goto controller and it was fine. I just had to make sure I got the tip polarity correct. I now use the same Maplins PSU for my larger HEQ5 pro mount and again it is fine.

I have one of these....and its excellent, its on offer at Maplins saving £26... http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/375w-linear-dc-variable-voltage-bench-power-supply-rp10l

I've also got one of these..its cheaper, doesn't pack such a punch, but is also pretty good http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-69w-dc-fixed-voltage-bench-power-supply-xm22y
