Hi guys

Really interesting reading all these posts on such a challengingly double-double, and quite inspiring too! I'm not very experienced with observing binaries, I guess that there are many many much easier doubles/multiples to look at first! But in theory, what chance would you think that an ED80 would have with Struve 1964?

Clear skies,

Donaldo :D

Hi Donaldo! Always worth a look, but pick a night with very good seeing to maximise your chances..... If you see the Lyra Double-Double easily and well split, that's a good start.

I'd guess that you'd see 1964 as a triplet as in the first sketch by Mike above, but if you don't try, you'll never know! My ED80 is superb for doubles, but of course 80mm is 80mm and you can't really beat the Laws of Physics (well, most of us can't!)
