Midnight Sun?

I've recently been doing some imaging where we live "down south", but this week we're in Northumberland near Holy Island.

Ive brought my observing binoculars and laser pointer to show our non-astro friends the sights, and it's really low light pollution up here.

Guess what - it doesn't get dark up here - doh !

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Getting darker, Michael? Not here. One and a half months left before I can dust off my gear.

You would think so. But just because it's light at night, doesn't mean that the sun is above the horizon. For that, you need to be north of the arctic circle. And that's where all the mosquitos are camping. And even when the sun is above the horizon, we still have that last item in my setup list (see my sig) to deal with.

Cheers,
