July 2, 2017: 36-pane, 94 Mpixel lunar mosaic in IR

Recommended Posts

Seeing was very choppy yesterday evening, but using a Baader 685nm IR-pass I managed to get a decent set of data (after discarding the entire first set, where I hadn't got focus right): 36 SER files of 1000 frames each. Stacked in AS!3 (overnight), sharpened in ImPPG, stitched in AutoStitch, and final tweaks in GIMP. I had to up the gain a bit due to the IR filter in use, so it is a bit more noisy than usual, but I am still pleased with the final result.

Full resolution gives far and away the best views (I really need a much bigger monitor)
