Thank you gentlemen, this is not my only hobby so I think I can just wait it out until Christmas, though there is a store selling telescopes very close by, so in the next few weeks I will no doubt be dropping in and having a chat, just to see what is what, :happy11:

A dedicated telescope store will have plenty to see, and they should be able to answer many questions, not only that, a chance to see the scopes in the flesh.

If it just a general store with a few scopes on offer, be aware of the hype! store keepers are adept at selling, its their business. 

There's no rush, just take your time, but with Christmas just 5 Months away, still no rush, just enjoy the process.

And lastly, welcome to the SGL.

It is a dedicated telescope store and has a good reputation, so I am happy to go and talk to them, thanks this is certainly a friendly forum, glad I found it.
