Do we need to go at the speed of light?

Recommended Posts

If lengths contract at relativistic speeds, am i right in saying that you would not need to go faster than the speed of light to get there in your lifetime because the distance there would be reduced?

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks,

Corkey

Some once explained to me that everything always travels at the same speed (or is velocity the right word) through space-time and therefore for any given object the more of its speed is being used to travel through space the less speed it has left over to travel through time and vice versa.
