Explorer-130P Synscan AZ GO-TO Recommendations

My father in law is looking for a good motorised telescope and has been advised to get an Explorer-130P Synscan AZ GO-TO.

This one here.

Are these ok?

Welcome.

Define 'Ok' and we may be able to help you with some meaningful replies.  It could be a reasonable choice, but it depends on what he wants to do with it, what the budget is, his experience, and his affinity with electronic gadgets. Also look at the general advice for beginners posted in this forum.

It's good as a beginner scope - the goto is fine (at least the one I had was fine) but the mount/tripod was a little light weight - it won't take heavier or longer scopes. Pretty quick and easy to set up and get going but don't expect to do any meaningful deep sky photography with it - fine for imaging moon and planets though (again at beginner level). Hth
