Walking on the Moon

Mizar/Alcor

As twilight slowly began to fade into nearly but not quite darkness I spent a little time with this must see little beauty and I knocked up a quick sketch as the field stars started to appear. Earlier in the session Iridium 70 had buzzed through the fov from SE to NW.

Nothing but paper, a 5H pencil and a little piece of putty.

Scanned, added details and cardinal points, inverted and a little hint of the colour I observed added to the Mizar pair with Photoshop.

This is a really nice point of observation in the sky Mizar and Alcor.  Nice sketch with various star brightness and even some color. That's how I remember the scene from a few days ago. Thanks
