30 minute Elephant ...

From last night. All sorts of problems with power supply, clouds etc but managed to get 6 X 5min, iso 800, UHC filter, dithered, flats and bias, 72 ED-R and 100D.

I know it needs a lot more data, but on the other hand, I'm amazed with the detail that can be got with a half hours imaging.

Very nice, amazing what can be captured in such a short integration time... surely more subs would cancel out the noise. Well done.

I was going to try and add more tonight, but the cloud gods have intervened. Wish I was in Oz, when I there earlier this year, it seemed two out of every three nights was clear. Here its one clear night every two weeks, and half of those fall on full moon!

Here is the same image with some artificial noise reduction and a bit darker...

Looks great but in my opinion artificial NR helps but nothing beats increasing the SnR with extra subs/data.
