How to use a Nikon D3000 with a SW skyliner 200P

Recommended Posts

T-piece for a Nikon D3000 and the bit (whatever name it is) that this screws into that then filts in the focuser. I need one and for the life of me cannot recall the name.

Minor problem that this may attach the DSLR to the 200P it may not allow the DSLR sensor to get in close enough to reach the focal plane of the mirror.

What then happens is you undo assorted bits and loosen the mirror off and adjusst it up the tube by 25m to 50mm. That moves the focal plane out to the sensor. Then you need a short extension tube for eyepiece/visual use.

Should have asked what mount is it on? For imaging you need an equitorial mount with motors as a minimum.

To get a series of images you will need an Intervalometer and also set up the DSLR accordingly. You then set it to get say ten thirty second exposures and stack. But for ease you need the intervalometer and there is a bit of a question about getting an inexpensive one for a Nikon. Maybe check somewhere like Amazon for their availability.

on your scope where it goes from "inch to 1.25, that section unscrews, connect that to the cheap ebay t mount for around 2.50gbp.

you will have np with focus like that, if you want to get closer add a barlow .

now if you only want to take 10- 20 sec subs you should be ok, any longer then you will need at least a ra drive.

next download digicam2, totally free and will allow you to go indoors and have a cuppa :)

or get a cheap wireless shutter control and take manually
