A spin around the sun

I can do solar animations too!!!! Well, of a kind anyway.

I wrapped todays disk onto a 3d sphere (in a virtual sense) and took frames at various rotations.

Just for fun but I think it has some value as it shows the extent of those faculae when you take away the foreshortening at the limb. Who knew the sun had a terminator?

Always good to see something different John. I watched those faculae for most of the day. There were a few pores in there but they all were short lived and did not develop into anything substantial.

Looks very effective with the spots visible as well, the faculae do pop out as it rotates around!
