Jupiter 8th May

Quite a few clear nights recently, but jittery seeing. Here is last night's offering.

Nice one. Confirms some of the detail I captured with the C8 as real, rather than processing artefact. I was out and about a bit later, and the seeing was odd, in that Jupiter jumped around a lot, but the details weren't that blurry. With the moon I could see distinct waves cross the surface, as if fairly large waves of different temperature air were traversing the field of view. That is easier to deal with than mushy seeing we have more often

Nice capture Peter with plenty of belt detail. Seeing was a bit of a mixed bag here last night - started off reasonable but deteriorated later on - ironically as Jupiter was near its max here!

Still some good detail there. The seeing is very difficult to predict unfortunately, I also agree the "mush" is harder to deal with than the "waves"
