Jupiter on 5/5/17

Last night paulastro called round to let me try out his Baader zoom eyepiece pair in my binoviewer. It was very nice to be able to easily vary the magnification to suit the seeing conditions without having to resort to exchanging eyepiece pairs. We spent most of our time observing the Moon, though Jupiter offered some pleasing detail too.

I like the clean and crisp clarity in the drawing Mike and subtle textures related to what you have observed. It was pristine here last night, only managed a glance in binoculars after returning from a night out, so nice to see this.
