Andywilliams
Another, slightly esoteric poll...... i am now starting to produce some images of which I am very happy with and might print off, frame and display around my house. i have noticed that many of the images on here are annotated in the bottom right hand corner with the object pictured, technique, times etc......and some of them are done in nice 'quirky' fonts....... any recommendations or likes re fonts? cheers, andy
johnfosteruk
Here's some of my favourites Andy and thanks for the question, I keep meaning to make a note of the fonts I've used as I always forget which ones they are so now I have an ongoing record. lukebl
I find the swirly handwriting-style fonts difficult to read, distracting and, dare I say it, unprofessional-looking. One of my favourites is Trebuchet. Neat and professional, but more interesting and stylish than Ariel/Helvetica. p.s. As my pedantic Graphic Designer sister is always reminding me, it's a typeface not a font! Different things.
Andywilliams
Thanks Luke for your reply. i have to say that I quite like the swirly fonts ...... I should say typeface ! ? I find them aesthetically pleasing......but I do like the typeface that you suggested also. cheers, andy
Andywilliams
Also, John.....you may notice that I put a photo up in the deep sky imaging section and its annotated. Unfortunately my version of gimp doesn't offer the Lucida calligraphy.....but I've used something not dissimilar. Cheers, andy
michael8554
Hi Andy I like Comic Sans MS because it is easy to read and is less "severe" than the usual Times New Roman and Arial. Michael
